Welcome to April!

April at Triangle Shala: Rooting Down to Rise Up

Rooting Down To Rise Up

As the earth awakens in full bloom, we invite you to cultivate deep roots—both on and off the mat. This month, our practice centers on grounding as a foundation for growth, drawing inspiration from Patanjali’s Sutra 2.46: Sthiram Sukham Asanam—finding steadiness and ease in each posture.

Through Vrksasana (tree pose), we’ll explore the balance between strength and softness, stability and expansion. By rooting down with intention, we create space to rise with grace.

Did you know? Vrksasana is one of the few medieval asanas that has stood the test of time, remaining a foundational part of modern yoga practice. While contemporary yoga has evolved to include a vast array of postures, this simple yet powerful pose has endured for centuries. Vrksasana is mentioned in ancient texts and depicted in temple sculptures across India that date back thousands of years, a testament to its deep roots in yoga's history.
